- 2 person household = $78,250

The Senior Housing Program has two different rent structures:
- Rent Based on Income
- Rent is based on a percentage of the resident’s income
- Flat Rent
- Rent is the same amount for each resident
Rents are effective January 1, 2024 for new rentals and re-certifications. Rents are subject to change.
- NOTE: Rental assistance programs can be used with the Senior Housing Program. Rental assistance programs can include the federal Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Program, VASH, Family Unification Program, or other State or locally funded rent assistance programs.
Underground heated garage spaces (Optional) = $50 per month
Heat, water, sewer and trash are included with rent. Resident’s are responsible for electricity. Security deposits are $600 for a one-bedroom unit and $850 for a two-bedroom unit.

One-Bedroom Apartment
Based on 30% of household’s annual income.
- Minimum rent = $504
- Maximum rent = $903
Two-Bedroom Apartment
Based on 32% of household’s annual income.
- Minimum rent = $746
- Maximum rent = $1,143
Flat Rent Buildings
One-Bedroom Apartment = $765
Two-Bedroom Apartment = $937

Preference is given to applicants who currently live, work, or have immediate family members (mother, father, son, daughter, brother or sister) residing in Dakota County.
How To Apply
Interested applicants can apply online using any device with internet access, including computers, laptops, tablets or smart phones.
Visit the online application portal at: www.myhousing.dakotacda.org
- Create a CDA MyHousing account username and password. You must have an email address to create an account.
- Only one application per household.
- The head/co-head of household must have date of birth and a Social Security Number.
- Application can be translated into other languages.
- Complete the online application and submit.
Step 1. Application is processed to be placed on waiting lists.
Step 2. Once your name approaches the top of the waiting list, you will be contacted to provide information to confirm program eligibility. This will include verification of income, rental history, credit and criminal background checks. Application fee is due at this time.
Step 3. Your application will be approved or denied.

- If denied you will be removed from waiting lists. You may apply for the waiting lists again if your situation changes and you meet eligibility requirements.
