For the Workforce Family Townhome Program, the preferred income range is between the minimum and preference income amounts. If the applicant’s income is within the preferred income range, they receive preference points.

However, preference is given to households who live or work in Dakota County or to households that do not have a permanent address in Dakota County, but receive benefits from Dakota County Employment & Economic Assistance (such as DWP, GA, MFIP, MSA, and SNAP).
The length of the waiting list depends on location and size of unit. Typically, the wait is between 18 to 24 months for preference applicants. Wait times cannot be estimated for non-preference applicants.
