Nicols Pointe
Located near the Twin Cities Premium Outlets and the Cedar Grove transit station in Eagan, Nicols Pointe will provide 24 one-bedroom units of affordable housing for seniors (55 and older) with a preference* for Veterans.
*Preference is given to applicants who are Veterans, households who live or work in Dakota County or who have immediate family (mother, father, son, daughter, brother or sister) residing in Dakota County. Preference is also given to applicants that do not have a permanent address in Dakota County, but receive benefits from Dakota County Employment & Economic Assistance (such as DWP, GA, MFIP, MSA, and SNAP).
The Nicols Pointe waitlist has opened for applications. Applications can be submitted online at www.myhousing.dakotacda.org.

How much is rent?
Indoor parking garage spaces rent for $50 per month.
Rates are as of January 1, 2024 and subject to change.
How do I apply?
Interested applicants can apply online using any device with internet access, including computers, laptops, tablets or smart phones.
Visit the online application portal at www.myhousing.dakotacda.org.
- Create a CDA MyHousing account username and password. You must have an email address to create an account.
- Only one application per household.
- The head/co-head of household must have date of birth and a Social Security Number.
- Application can be translated into other languages.
- Complete the online application and submit.
What happens after I apply?
Step 1. Application is processed to be placed on waiting lists.
Step 2. Once your name approaches the top of the waiting list, you will be contacted to provide information to confirm program eligibility. This will include verification of income, rental history, credit and criminal background checks. Application fee is due at this time.
Step 3. Your application will be approved or denied.

- If approved, you will select a unit. Once all units are filled, approved applicants will be offered a unit when one becomes available.
- If denied you will be removed from the waiting list. You may apply for the waiting list again if your situation changes and you meet eligibility requirements.
